Group Manager at the Swedish Prison and Probation Service

The Swedish Prison and Probation Service is growing – we are building new facilities, renovating, and expanding, and we are now looking for more employees. We are the authority responsible for prisons, probation, remand, and client transport.

The department's mission is to standardize, develop, and improve a high-quality operational content for remand, prison, and probation, tailored to the needs of different client groups and the possibility of a life without crime.

The section for operational support and analysis is tasked with developing and managing the Swedish Prison and Probation Service's client administrative systems for probation, remand, and prison from an operational perspective, ensuring they support client-related work and provide functional system support for users, while meeting the needs of internal and external stakeholders for quality-assured information.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As a group manager, you will lead the work within your team and have personnel responsibility for approximately 20 specialists and registry maintainers. The group's mission includes managing and developing the various system supports of the Swedish Prison and Probation Service, which involves providing support to core operations in matters concerning enforcement, judicial processes, and operations within probation, remand, and prison. The work is carried out in close collaboration with the IT department, the legal department, and other parts of the authority affected by the Criminal Records Register.

Since your team members partly work remotely, it is important that you are clear in your leadership, accessible, and have a good ability to communicate the organization's goals and planning even though you or your team members work remotely to some extent.

We are looking for someone who has:

• A university degree in a relevant field for the position or other education combined with experience deemed relevant by the Swedish Prison and Probation Service
• Several years of work experience in a managerial position with budget and personnel responsibility
• Experience with trust-based working methods
• Good experience in development work and driving change processes
• The ability to express yourself well in spoken and written Swedish
• Good computer skills

It is meritorious if you have:

• Documented leadership training
• Project management training
• Well-rated managerial experience
• Experience from various operational areas within the Swedish Prison and Probation Service
• Experience leading remotely
• Relevant experience from other public sector operations
• Knowledge and experience of the PM3 management model
• Knowledge and experience of the PPS project model
